How to End a Not-responding Program in Windows 7

Posted by James Madison 4:29 AM, under ,, | No comments

If you find that a program is not responding to your clicks, and a window is not coming to foreground and is also not maximizing or minimizing, you must know that the program is frozen. There will also be a not responding message visible in the window’s title bar. In this situation the user can terminate the program by using the Task Manager. Well, how do you go about it? There are several steps that can help accomplish this task, or you can also seek the services of an online technical support.

• Step 1: Right click on the task bar of Windows and choose the option Start Task Manager from the menu that pops up. This starts the Task Manager. For starting Task Manager, one can also hit the keys Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
• Step 2: Choose the tab labeled Applications when the Task Manager appears.
• Step 3: Now select the program that is frozen from the list. The user will find not responding in the Status for a program that is frozen.
• Step 4: Next you have to click on the button called End Task.
• Step 5: When you receive a prompt, you have to confirm that you want to close or terminate that program.

If you are facing problems, you can contact a remote PC support provider for further assistance in resolving your computer issues.
